The ejection seat of Charles de Gaulle

D ince October, I notes on the blog Merges a unusual silence, I broke to remember what it means to cholera in Haiti, who remembers Toussaint Louverture.

This silence accompanies what seems to be a turning point: Charles de Gaulle is now sitting on an ejection seat, the mechanism is now engaged.

A single index.

L e Monday, November 8, 2010, at 20:35 on France 3 TV channel France group, led by Patrick Poivre d'Arvor, a documentary called innocently De Gaulle, the last battle, sounded the tocsin.

For an hour, we witnessed a classic hagiographic documentary. Except that the film was broken - riddled - vitriolic passages, where we went up to present Alain Peyrefitte, facing camera, swinging hateful quotes much as scandalous by which de Gaulle justified the dropping of Africa, especially Algeria. It even suggested (unless I make movies ...) that the General did not get along so badly with our friends from the U.S. Administration. De Gaulle, his racism, his xenophobia, his transgression of the most fundamental principles of the Republic, and his crime of high treason. Not quite sure that these words are never spoken. Moreover, in this strange relationship at least sketched, the latest perfect apologies rang false, is tinged with a subtle and devastating irony. The documentary ended with the painting of the shipwreck ultimate General, on the threshold of death, crippled by terrible doubts and remorse inextricable.

As I have already had occasion to write in several previous articles in the spheres allowed (political, academic, intellectual), whether French or African or international, evidence of imposture de Gaulle, his monstrosity is no longer ignored or especially challenged.

The extreme ignominy of the second Charles de Gaulle, one of the alleged "decolonization", is now the obvious. It remains formally unmentionable, since the scandal behind it is not only intercontinental scale, but also globally. Furthermore, many intellectuals, politicians and even great journalists (although this profession can be proud to count among its ranks the few dissenting voices who took it to General under the Fifth Republic) are prisoners, held by lies or blind they are guilty in the last half century.

Meanwhile, it is no longer face the camera as the necessary reverence and hypocrisy. Moreover, if the silent or still waters down, everybody knows the mental corruption and ugliness of Charles de Gaulle on Chapter ultramarine, his contempt for "Negroes" and "Arabs", its narrow and hateful of France, its incredible betrayal. And the truth growls when awake each day new awareness, discussions over the fireplace, facing the ball or zinc on the pillow.

In all likelihood, the great man did more than two years to enjoy the delights of a holiness that theft is matched only by the magnitude of his crimes.

See you, dear reader, in two years. Or perhaps not ...
